East West University (EWU), is rated among the top private universities of Bangladesh. East West University was launched in 1996 and accredited by the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, and its curricula and programs have been approved by the UGC Bangladesh. . EWU has been ranked as the top private university and the third among public and private universities in Bangladesh by Webometrics Ranking of world universities was conducted by Cybermetrics Lab in 2007.

East West University has three faculties named Faculty of Sciences and Engineering, Faculty of Business and Economics and Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and Each faculty is again divided into different departments. Department of Business Administration, department of Computer Science and Engineering, department of English and Social Science department are the main departments of EWU. A Dean is the head of each faculty while departments are headed by the respective department Chairpersons.
